Kenya police has done it again bungled the most straight forward case. God save us from our protectors

mtaani • 10 years ago

no leader with such qualities should hold any office.am of da opinion tht both should be sent home

Kymmau • 10 years ago

An action of intrusion to a body was committed by either the party which amounts to battery.the other only responded as a self deffence strategy which is a common remedy to a tort,as long as the response is proportion to the magnitude of the attack.follow that simple logic n give us the real culprit

jimisan • 10 years ago

'big-man' syndrome reigns in Kenya irrespective of the political cloth. Let's see where it all leads up to and how it ends. Just a reflection!

This shall serve as a warning to others who may dare try fight in public in future

Kmaati • 10 years ago

It doesn't make sense to charge Kidero, Shebesh is a wild woman who went with goons to attack the governor. In the video she is not sure whether its Kidero who slapped
her or not, she keeps on asking..you have slapped me? you have slapped Kidero? Pure nonsense!

Is Sonko going to be charged too, or that is a domestic affair?

shillings • 10 years ago

The initiator should be held accountable and charged. For the responder, it was self defense or do we call it reactionary.

joe opiyo • 10 years ago

It is time for Kenyans to know if Justice and the rule of law truly covers everybody regardless of their status.

Mwakideo Ngao • 10 years ago

Shebesh should be charged for forcefully fondling Kidero's private parts while her bodyguard boxed him there..now wonder the governor gave her an almighty thwack

Keny@n • 10 years ago

Ridiculous! Ati shbesh grabbed his testicles. How convenient. There was obviously nothing like that. It just so happens that it is the only kind of defense Kidero could come up with. Thankfully the OPP can see and think.
Immediately after he slapped Shebesh, Kidero claimed not to remember any such thing. Convenient how he later remembers his testicles were squeezed. No man would forget!

AmeZidi Kweli • 10 years ago

waaaaah! now I have seen/read it all.

Jowdy • 10 years ago

The law has taken its course indeed and that was all i expected

LeaningTowerOfPISA • 10 years ago

There is a high risk of a dangerous occurrence if people can just be allowed to storm offices of Senior official figures without making a defined appointment. What would we be talking about today if in the fracas the governor got assassinated. I have no sinister motive against Shebesh but in developed countries Shebesh and her group would have been arrested and detained while investigations were going on as to why she stormed the Governor's office without first making an appointment. It was very unethical for her in such a senior position to have made an approach of the kind to the office of the Governor. I have also wondered where the bodyguards of the Governor were because ib such situations they would not have allowed the governor to be reached or to be allowed to open the door of his office. I think it is the Governor who was embarrassed in the public face and should be congratulated for having used less force in response to the provocation.

LeaningTowerOfPISA • 10 years ago

I thought there is a law which states that before any move is made the first part of investigation is to find out if one provoked the other? Or these laws are just used for convenience.

Allen et al • 10 years ago

Kidero is a real gentle man, if it were me, Shebesh would have been two
months pregnant by now... a lady trying to touch my "lungula" in my
office; anatoka na mimba I swear. but still, in developed world, kidero
would have even shot Shebesh dead and get away with it, in the context
of stand your ground policy. He can argue that his life was in danger,
she came with goons and attacked him in his office. The problem is
Shebesh is not well exposed, no good academic, but in Kenya you can
become anything u want. These are two leaders heading the same geographical jurisdiction, was it too hard to book an appointment?

Richard Odera • 10 years ago

whoever said the law is an ass, must have had in mind scenarios like Sebesh believing she was the victim, only to become the villain. interesting to see DPP's take on the matter.

Levi Lewis • 10 years ago

Never just believe in the first story. There is always another version it which often ends up changing the picture. Always hear both sides no matter how believable the first on sounds.

Jowdy • 10 years ago

This has nothing to do with the DPP but the findings of the investigating team. The camera was only able to the upper parts of the happenings but what about the lower parts. It was left to the team to establish who did what to who and where

Free kenyanwoman • 10 years ago

by not charging Kidero for slapping a women leader sends a very bad signal to the existence of the already downtrodden girl child in Kenya, i am one of the lucky few.

SIMON GECHORE • 10 years ago

we do care about our sisters but that lady Shebesh! no not at all i don't know why she even calls herself a leader. She clearly can't be a role ,model for young girls!

shillings • 10 years ago

Every person has a right to defend themselves... what are you telling little boys, that they should sit back and be attacked by little girls? The gender card does not work here... the aggressor is the culprit and so we teach all kids that starting fights is bad!

wanyinyo • 10 years ago

Shebesh is neither a girl nor a child

FowlerD • 10 years ago

Are the likes of Shebesh the "downtrodden girl child of this country"? Crap!

clemento254 • 10 years ago

Doesn't matter whether it's a woman or otherwise, groping a male organ uninvited and in public is the worst crime any person could do. It's even worse if it's performed by a woman. Shameless lady!!!

bobcat • 10 years ago

No its about being the aggressor first, you forget the part of the law called self-defense. Nobody should attack anyone period!

Francis Kiranga • 10 years ago

This is what I call a waste of time. Indeed the actions of the two were disgraceful, however, a lot has happened since and besides Kenyans have been entertained by a series of "Photo shop" which could inadvertently be dragged into this case as a proof that the recent behaviour of one of them needs further investigations and scrutiny. I thought that at the moment, the State has too many matters appertaining to the Counrty's Security to keep it busy instead of persuing an insignificant occurance. However, if the State wants to bring "Vitimbi" in peoples houses then they can go ahead and prosecute the case and ensure that the details are flashed to the TV sets during the Prime time.

Amused • 10 years ago

I tend to agree that the charges should have been leveled immediately. It beats logic what the police could have been investigating since Sept. 6th 2013. If anything, this exemplifies the police as an ineffective and inefficient force that does not understand the notion that justice delayed is justice denied.Going by their example, the DPP now has another 3 years to mull over the charges during which time the facts will obviously have morphed. Spare us.

nursesrock • 10 years ago

Why are they finding it hard to say Kidero slapped Shebesh? Kenyans get fooled so easily.

jadolo • 10 years ago

I hope both have got the traditional P3 form to claim any injury for defense!

Helen madegwa • 10 years ago

Shebesh and kidero;they have to be charged.coz they fighting in public area.they show bad behave they have to show respect to their ppls.

fuanamkenya • 10 years ago

afrocinema resumes after a short break.kip it locked

maskwembe • 10 years ago

Our doctors filling in P3 forms should be ashamed. It is very difficult to conclude that a slap has harmed someone if there is no visible evidence. This is why, doctors are allowed to use ?Harm if the are not sure. It is the work of policemen to provide evidence to the court. Doctors' incompetence has lead many innocent people into our rotten jails. I believe the video evidence, but I don't believe the doctor's report. How can you conclude that there was harm and yet there was no visible evidence on the cheek/groin. I repeat this - use ?Harm.

kenya1 • 10 years ago

boy in medical field inflamation of tissue is called "harm injury or inflammation to the body/specific tissue" which in this case is the epidermal tissue, a slap or being hit below the belt obviously causes redness, swelling, pain and heat which are hallmark signs, so b4 u say the doc is incompetent maybe u should check your knowledge, dont be that ignorant.

Omwamimchuma • 10 years ago

While I respect your perspective, more so about a possibility of incompetent doctors, I would ask to know the parameters of your "visible evidence": is this restricted only to what can be seen by your naked eye or would "internal injuries" also count for evidence? What about a possibility of "Photoshop artistry" to the video you seem to believe in: would such possible video misrepresentation still count?

Felix Amolo • 10 years ago

so to you police and doctor which one is more incompetent?

Taabu • 10 years ago

Smart Shebesh knew when to HIT where it hurts most.

Guest • 10 years ago
O.NDIGA • 10 years ago

So you think the President is above the law, heih? Get your facts right bwana Kamau, OK?!

MsemaKweli • 10 years ago

Kidero sorted one problem called "USHEBESH", aka nonsense

Dakitarijeff • 10 years ago

Kidero must reaign otherwise its an insult to women. What a shame. Just slap a woman in public and its ok?

Alfotula • 10 years ago

Which woman? Shebbesh should be slapped by any man who passes near her.

bobcat • 10 years ago

You act like a thug, you get the same treatment. I am ashamed of their behavior, humans must act carefully.

Francis Kiranga • 10 years ago

Which woman are you talking about? You ought to be ashamed for calling Shebesh a woman? She belongs in her own category and needs thorough medical evaluation as she may be abnormal.

Punchez • 10 years ago

But it is still ok for a woman to grab someones 'bujingles' in public..before you respect the man, respect the office (title).

Medicine Man • 10 years ago

A most idiotic and cowardly conclusion ..... I've watched the video a number of times and there is only one aggressor. Incompetent.

Niamey • 10 years ago

That is why you are not the police.... Let police do their work pls. You were not there to see what happened from the lower angle before the slap but Police had time to investigate and find out...

McBell • 10 years ago

SHAME!

Fireman • 10 years ago

Injuries for both 'victims' were certified as "harm"......hahahaha. Peculiar happenings and habits of the high and might in Kenya

SIMSOL316 • 10 years ago

I think the investigators have done a serious and fair job here. Kudos!

jamali mukira • 10 years ago

Good move this people they are milking this country seriusely, governors they dont want to empower there people like middle east,if interests are higher they can print there own cash to be used in there county only.North Carolina is doing that in America.
